LABTECH RECEIVES ENVIRONMENTAL RECOGNITION — ISO14001

Labtech, part of the Intelek Group and UK based manufacturer of microwave printed circuit boards and MMIC packaging solutions, announces receipt of the environmental approval — ISO14001 from BSI

Labtech's dedicated Health & Safety/Environmental team, has been working closely with the BSI to secure this prestigious award.

The ISO14000 is a series of standards covering environmental management and it especially considers activities with a direct or indirect impact on environment and in-house systems.

Labtech has successfully addressed a number of issues by working for and securing ISO14001. Many of Labtech's blue chip customers require their suppliers to be environmentally aware, Labtech is actively reducing waste and energy loss and thereby reducing costs and good environmental performance ensures that Labtech is operating legally.

Labtech's ongoing capital expenditure is carefully balanced with the needs of the environment and when specifying new equipment this is taken into consideration particularly with water usage and effluent treatment. During 2003 Labtech plans to invest £60K in environmental impact equipment.
