LABTECH IN BUOYANT MOOD FOR MTT-S EXHIBITION
World leading manufacturer of microwave printed circuit boards, Labtech, will be showcasing its hi-tech capability at the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) exhibition during Microwave Week in Fort Worth, Texas from June 8-10.
The innovative company, which supplies the global Telecommunications, Defence and Space markets, is in buoyant mood and looking forward to meeting existing and new customers on stand 1111 at MMT-S, one of three major international exhibitions it will be attending this year.
It will be the sixth year running that the company has attended the major event, which is staged as part of the annual International Microwave Symposium, the leading microwave electronics event in the USA.
Labtech's team will include sales and marketing director Bob Lowther, engineering and quality executive John Priday and Mark Gullotti, the company's new national sales manager for North America. Mark, who lives in Rochester, New Hampshire, has 20 years' experience in sales positions with printed circuit board and backplane manufacturers, assemblers and value added system integrators.
The company has recently enhanced its manufacturing capability by investing in a new generation UV laser and profiling machine to meet a growing demand for high tolerance microwave printed circuit boards.
Employing a workforce of 95 at state-of-the-art headquarters at Presteigne in Wales, Labtech has also recently secured the new Quality Management Standard ISO9001: 2000, the prestigious ISO14001 environmental award from the British Standards Institution and had its European Space Agency qualification extended to 2009.
“Our Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC) packaging technology has attracted great interest at previous shows and we are looking forward to promoting our market-leading range of services at MTT-S,” said Labtech's sales and marketing director Bob Lowther.
Labtech has developed MMIC custom packaging solutions utilising organic substrates as a low cost alternative to existing technologies. Offering low cost NRE and tooling, the solutions are targeted at Ka/Ku band applications and the Optical components market.
New electroplating techniques to thicken the ground metal plate for high power packaging versions have been developed by the company along with interesting motherboard solutions for MMIC integration, utilising mixed dielectric and metal core/backing techniques.
Labtech is one of the companies forming Intelek plc, which supplies leading edge Microwave Circuit Technology to the world's electronics and aerospace markets. Intelek was one of the first companies to be listed on the London Stock Exchange's techMARK Index.
